Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Dubai’s Vision 2021, and the New Kuwait Vision 2035 are prime examples, outlining comprehensive plans to digitize government services and invest in robust digital infrastructure. These initiatives build upon previous efforts, such as the UAE’s “One App,” launched in 2013, which offered digital access to over 4,000 government services. Similarly, Saudi Arabia’s Unified National Platform provides access to 3,300 government services. The declaration of Riyadh as a digital city further underscores the region’s commitment to fostering digital innovation.

The Middle East is at the forefront of deploying cutting-edge technologies crucial to the digital age. From 5G to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), the region is embracing innovation. Saudi Arabia, with over 6,500 5G towers, is a global leader in 5G deployment. Cisco research indicates that cities in the Gulf States will witness the fastest growth in Machine-to-Machine (M2M) applications, exceeding 40%. These technological advancements are driving the need for sophisticated data centers to support the region’s evolving digital landscape.
