Quantum Switch, a leading designer, developer, and operator of data centers across the Middle East and Europe,  is demonstrating its commitment to the region by investing in a local workforce. The company has partnered with CNet Training to provide industry-approved technical education to local staff in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. This initiative will see Quantum Switch invest over $250,000 to train 100 local workers as technicians and managers for its new data centers.

Developing a Skilled Local Workforce

This year alone, Quantum Switch will invest over $100,000 to educate 28 local staff in technical and data center management skills. Over the next five years, the company plans to train at least 100 individuals, showcasing its dedication to investing in a local workforce. This commitment to local talent aligns with Quantum Switch’s broader strategy to employ and upskill individuals in the communities where it operates.

CNet Training Partnership

CNet Training, a global leader in technical education for the digital infrastructure industry, will deliver the training programs. This collaboration enables Quantum Switch to recruit individuals with core skills and provide them with specialized training in data center technologies and management.

Industry-Recognized Certifications

Managers and technicians will be enrolled in either the Certified Data Center Management Professional (CDCMP®) or the Certified Data Center Technician Professional (CDCTP®) program. Upon successful completion, participants will receive industry-recognized certifications validating their expertise in this complex field.

Commitment to Local Communities

Peter O’Sullivan, Head of Operations at Quantum Switch, emphasized the importance of a skilled workforce in the data center sector:

“Any data centre is only as good as the people who manage it and keep it operating. The necessary blend of skills is hard to find which is why we are working with CNet to invest in developing and certifying individuals with relevant skills to apply them in the exciting and growing data centre sector. We are passionate about creating high-skill, high-value jobs for the communities where we operate, and the CNet certifications help us do exactly that.”

“We applaud Quantum Switch for its commitment to local skills development. By providing its staff with the opportunity to participate in our technical education programmes and earn certifications recognised by the industry worldwide, not only benefits the local population by providing access to education for high quality, transferrable skills, it also creates a powerful employer brand that benefits all parties.”

Expanding Data Center Footprint

This initiative comes on the heels of Quantum Switch’s recent contract to deliver and operate six 50MW data centers in Saudi Arabia over the next five years. With ongoing expansion across the Middle East, the company is poised to become a significant employer of high-technology staff in the region. By investing in a local workforce, Quantum Switch is not only supporting the growth of the data center sector but also contributing to the development of local communities.
